Summer is slowly but surely winding to an end. It’s been quite an experience to say the least. It’s the first summer Mark has been home and the first owning our house. It’s also the first summer Kailey has played a team sport. Tee-Ball is over and soccer is about to start up soon. Mark goes back to work on the 12th and I head back to campus on the 20th. So our time at home is coming to an end with a batch of mixed feeling about it. We had some rocking times where we weren’t communicating as a family unit. Often misunderstanding or misinterpreting each other. Tiredness makes communicating even more difficult and we found ourselves tired from working on improving our house and yard often. But we are happy with our small improvements and look forward to working on more together.
We removed the old fireplace and chimney and created a new wall in the living room. We installed a railing for the back steps and demolished the screened in porch and painted the columns. We have a bit more to do on this our latest project.
This next weekend is a going to be a busy one. We need a few more uniforms for Kailey and to pick up my books from campus. My car needs new registration stickers and we need to get lunch foods for Mark.
I could go on and on but it’s breakfast time at the homestead. Until later, caio.
